You need to manually turn it on when you get into the car everytime and then the receiver could automatically connect with your phone device(If you phone device had connected with this receiver before).   it will automatically turn off after a certain amount of inactivity, it is about 15 minutes.

• + Weird question for you guys. If I plug this into a headphone coupler, would it make my headphones Bluetooth?

  I had to test this, and yes, if you plug headphones directly into it, it works. Works pretty good too.

• + Is the 3.5mm male piece attached or can it be removed? I want to know if the actual receiver has a female input where I could plug in headphones?

  Yes it has a female 3.5 on the device but comes with a double male adapter.

• + If I use as BT receiver can I have a call using smartphone-headphone? Does the mic of smartphone-headphone work or is there any built-in mic?

  the receiver is built in mic

• + Can it charge while being used at the same time?

  As long as they connect to each other I don't see why not. I use this to stream from my phone to a surround sound and also to leave my phone in a spot charging and plug headphones into the mpow. Bam wireless headphones.
